What product or which service does the startup provide?
Scenwise develops innovative mobility solutions. We combine traffic engineer and statistical knowledge with Big Data technology to generate new insights. Google can detect congestions. However, Google cannot distinguish accidents from congestions. But our unique accident detection algorithm can. During a pilot at Rijkswaterstaat (RWS), we successfully demonstrated that our accident detection algorithm works on the highways. Currently, we are extending our solution to detect accidents on the provincial roads. Our solution will substantially speed up the incident management process. This reduces the traffic fatalities. Early activation of the detour routes can reduce traffic jams and contribute to a better environment. 

Who are the products or services intended for?
We develop intelligent software to support:

• traffic managers to make fast and better decisions for improving the traffic flow and enhancing the road safety.
• traffic engineers to analyze traffic situations and develop more reliable traffic management plans (scenarios, response plans);

We help our customers, e.g. Rijkswaterstaat, provinces, municipalities and also commercial event organizations to develop Smart City solutions.

Which problem does the startup solve exactly?
The current Incident Management process of the road authorities is reactive. First of all, someone has to call the police after an accident occurs. The police comes to the location and report the accident to the traffic management center before the IM process can be started. After that, towing service will take action to remove the broken car(s). The ambulance and emergency services will come to the location to help the victims. Every minute the IM process is delayed, the traffic jams will grow and the chance of accident death will grow. Our solution speeds up the IM process
